Back Exercises

From a young age, we’re taught to believe that if something hurts, that’s where the problem is. The lower back, where the lumbar spine is located, is frequently a problem area – but the reason most commonly lies above or below.

In this section on the back, let’s take a look at the upper back, where the thoracic spine is located. If there’s an area in the body that’s over-looked, under-stretched and most at risk from poor posture, it’s the upper back.

If you are suffering from low back pain you’ll also want to try out the hip exercises we offer – this is the area below the lumbar spine that can also cause trouble in the low back.

Once the upper back is tight, the lower back and the neck have to work so much harder than they were ever meant to do. The result? Something ”goes” and you get pain and stiffness.

These exercises are amongst our absolute favourites because by getting our thoracic spine mobile again, we can take the strain off our neck, our lower back and even our knees.
