It’s all about the six pack, right? WRONG!
The core is so much more than one muscle group. It’s what connects our upper body to our lower body. It protects our digestive system. It provides us with our centre of balance. If it’s weak, we struggle to push, to pull, to throw, to hit a tennis ball – or even to lift up our children or grandchildren.
These core exercises integrate movement from the nose to the toes, teaching us to effectively use our lower back, abdominal, pelvic floor, gluteal and breathing muscles. Whether or not we notice it in our daily lives, all these muscle groups are part of the core.
