Shoulder Exercises

You have 16 muscles holding on to your scapula – also known as your shoulder blade. So we’re often surprised that so many professionals spend their time blaming the rotator cuff, a group of just four shoulder muscles, for shoulder injuries.

The key to healthy shoulders and arms is a mobile, strong shoulder blade that moves dynamically on a mobile rib cage that in turn moves with a flexible thoracic spine.

Rather than blaming one small group of muscles, we look at the whole chain of joints and muscles from your hands to your spine and on down to your hips. They all need to be healthy and moving freely to keep your arms and shoulders injury-free.

Our perspective on exercises for your shoulders and arms is that you should have all the places that support shoulder and arm movement set up well to take the strain off your shoulders.
