Marnie testimonial“Lucy and Ed bring a depth of knowledge about the body and movement to their classes that I haven’t found in many other places. They don’t just teach the how of the movements; they teach the why. That means I have actually understood enough about the exercises and yoga postures to be able do them at home. Their classes, which are so much fun and so supportive, have helped me step into my capacity to feel good, to be physically strong, confident and flexible. I understand my body and how it moves through space in a whole new way. I can’t recommend them and their classes highly enough.”Marnie Schaetti, Editor, Calgary

Lucy and Ed are incredible hosts and their lovely energy serves to not only ground you, but keeps you in an extended state of peacefulness and joy.

“I was fortunate to join Ed and Lucy at their yoga/movement retreat in Golden, BC. They selected a marvelous venue run by amazing individuals who made the experience all the much better – from their personal warmth, their delicious homemade healthy organic meals, their quiet haven in the midst of Mother Nature. The yoga studio was perfect for the twice a day yoga and movement classes. The yoga that Lucy leads is beautiful, restorative, and includes some chi kung which I personally love. Ed’s movement classes are not only comprehensive in his teaching you about your own body mechanics, but includes functionally teaching the body how to work stronger and better in multiple planes of motions. Lucy and Ed are incredible hosts and their lovely energy serves to not only ground you, but keeps you in an extended state of peacefulness and joy. They work tirelessly to ensure that your needs are being met, your experience is meaningful, and your spirit is uplifted. I can’t say enough about them and would highly recommend any retreat they are planning as one you won’t regret taking!” Suzanne West, President, Black Shire Energy Inc. Calgary

Who are the retreat leaders?

Ed and Lucy Paget are highly experienced osteopathic practitioners, movement trainers and the owners of The English Osteopaths in Calgary.

They have been teaching yoga and functional movement for over a decade. Between them, they’ve helped thousands of clients recover from injury through their one-on-one, hands on osteopathic treatment and movement education.

In 2007, Lucy and Ed moved to Calgary from England. They were married in 2009 and had a daughter, Nina, in 2010.

Since coming to Calgary, they have often listened to the frustration of people who are in pain as they describe what they have done to try to help themselves. Over time, they have found that there were two common themes:

  1. People were not having the root causes of their problems addressed or explained.
  2. People were not being given functional exercises to do at home to maintain the benefits of the treatment.

They realized they needed to show their clients WHY their bodies had gotten into trouble so that they could understand the root cause of their illness or injury.

They love showing people how interconnected the body is. They love it when people say “WOW, I’ve never seen it like that before!” It is very gratifying when people understand – and feel – how a tight hip has caused a shoulder injury or how relaxed their jaw feels after they’ve worked on their shoulders.

That kind of ah-ha moment is empowering for clients because understanding why something has happened means they can do something about it.

It’s the kind of ah-ha moment you’ll have when you sign up for this offer and begin working with them to build your own capacity for ease of movement and freedom from pain.

Lucy and Ed’s shared mission is to deliver health through movement classes, extraordinary workshops and osteopathic treatment to educate people about just how amazing their bodies are.

“Lucy is definitely a hidden Gem in our city. I have had the great pleasure of attending her chigong classes. Without any hesitation, I would recommend them to anyone searching for a guided practice that accesses the subtle/energetic pathways in the body. This instantly quiets the mind, increases vitality, and connects you to your own source and center. She teaches from a place of honesty that is rooted in self practice, and is deeply genuine in her approach.” Tanis Fishman, Yoga instructor, Calgary

By registering for this package you will get their guidance and support to help you:

  • Learn and practice yoga postures and functional movement exercises that you will be easily able to integrate into your daily life
  • Get educated on how the body works, which will support your understanding of the exercises and postures you are learning
  • Find that you move more easily and confidently no matter what shape you’re in to begin with.

What are the preparation workshops about?

workshopThese three-hour workshops will help you understand your body – how you move, how you breathe, and how you sit and stand.

The topics of the three workshops will flow together to give you all you need to start changing the way you move, and to practice it before the retreat.

That means the retreat will become a time to refine your learning, a time to ask deep questions. It will give you the final nudge to lasting healthy habits that you’ll have spent three months building.

The workshops will provide the foundation on which the retreat can build.

When:

We will be choosing one weekend each in January, February and March. The specific dates of the workshops are yet to be announced.

Where:

Each of these inspiring, fun and educational workshops will be held at The Yoga Studio in Wellington Square, Calgary.

How much:

These workshops are our gift to you (worth $145). We hope they will inspire you to make long-lasting changes to the way you move and exercise.

What if I can’t make the workshops?

Don’t worry.  We’ll do a review of what we’ve covered in the workshops once we’re in Costa Rica.  It would be great if everyone could attend the workshops but we know that it’s just not feasible for everyone.  We’ll make sure everyone learns what they need to and we’ll give you the one on one time you may need to review what we’ve taught in the workshops.
